Just launched: Impact measurement tool, Impact Recorder

In the last week, we launched a new tool for organising your impact data, and building good habits in impact measurement.

It is called Impact Recorder, and it is the product of 4 years of research in impact measurement and co-design with social enterprises and not-for-profits. Developed for social enterprises and purpose-led organisations, Impact Recorder is built to support small teams or individuals who need to manage and organise their impact measurement processes, and get summaries and outcomes for their annual reports, grant and tender applications, and social enterprise accreditations.

Co-Founder Elise has been using it for her academic work, and says:

Whether in academia or business, I’m often asked to report on the impact I make. This is something I frequently struggle with – I often have not kept very good records. Whilst I get great testimonies, impact stats and data, they’re almost always forgotten by the next week.

The amazing Lara Stephenson has been busy creating the Impact Recorder – an automated tool that plugs into your calendar, draws key data on what you did, when you did it and who was there, and allows you to very quickly record what kinds of impact your engagement might have had. It’s a much cheaper and easier way to keep track of social impact than pretty much anything else on the market. It’s mostly automated, but by drawing directly from your calendar, it also saves you the effort of remembering what you did. I’ll often just log in at the end of the week, and like reconciling expenses in Xero, just reconcile my impact in the Impact Recorder, selecting pre-customised types of impact relevant for whatever events are drawn from my calendar. (Irrelevant events/meetings I delete if I don’t want to record ‘wasted hours’!)

I’ve been testing the tool over the last few months and even though I am deeply biased, I do love it and find it incredibly useful. You can even export reports of your impact!
