Strategic wayfinding for founders and leaders
Creating coherence and alignment in your work
This is business development for the inner engine of your business,
the heart of your business,
you.
You’ve come to the place where what used to be strong, clear and possible has lost its fire. In the cloudy air, or the murky swamplight, things don’t look how they used to, and neither do you!
You have a totally new sphere of reference, a perspective above what you used to do, and that work now doesn’t fit.
In order to enter the warm light, the fire and the clarity of the new path though, there’s some mists we have to traverse and a doorway that stands waiting.
Are you ready to go there?
Thresholds are where everything is possible again.
At thresholds, a guardian is always present. Traditionally, it is ancient and symbolic, but today some people replace it with self-doubt.
This will not be you, though.
We won’t be walking into another pale room of life that’s just better decorated.
We are dealing with the very nature of who walks through the door.
There is of course a reason for the work you want to do, the Work you are wanting to accomplish. This has deep foundations, which daily business doesn’t always give us time to explore and recognise.
We’re so used to our story we’ve forgotten what’s special about it.
Mythic roots take time and patience to work with.
It’s like: the moment we have time to ourselves, we fill it with distraction.
The archetypal power of your work is there to support you, nonetheless, once you recognise it.
It has been waiting for you to have a moment.
You have not had a moment.
We can make one.
Something will become visible to you that has always been there.
This work matters to me because coherence and alignment in work are not luxuries. Inner conflict, when you’re the face of your work, shows.
Conflict between your natural rhythm and the rhythm of modern work can leak all your energy before you’ve got started.
I’ve been in these situations, situations where the foundations were not there, where purpose wasn’t aligned, where trying to have a moment with yourself to read your own compass was impossible.
I also know that this is an impossible way to do business, at war with your self.
What is possible is power in alignment.
Your energy goes where it naturally flows, your work runs on the right fuel, and what you do feels cohesive and right.
Over many years I’ve guided women who are starting, changing and evolving businesses through this territory.
And I know the compass doesn’t point North.*
*In any case, North is not the destination. North is where everyone agreed we’re going, because it was easier than having the other conversation.**
**I am available for the other conversation.
About Lara
I have been in the marshes following the lamplights many times, as well as on forest paths tripping on tree roots in the dark.
In part this is why I choose lighthouses and outpost towers as metaphors. They are like the light and vantage point I am aiming for in the truest version of my work.
Along the way I’ve received help, and provided support to, fellow travellers on the path.
If you’re on this path too, and would like companionship as you navigate transitions, I am here to support your travels.
I’ve facilitated design sessions, problem solving workshops, digital transformation work, and business psychology work for founders, organisations and government. This is the less poetic phrasing of the above: you are in safe hands.

Wayfinding Sessions
Crossing thresholds are rarely a single moment. Becoming clear and re-orienting to your power and work unfolds in a series of steps. Especially if that work is changing, evolving, or starting something new.
Together we’ll find what guides your work, and lends your work and voice power and depth.
What we do in this time goes as deep as the terrain requires.
- It could be strategy, language and the feel & function of what you offer.
- It could be finding your work’s archetype, founding myth, and the story you tell others.
- We can look at the patterns beneath the surface: repeating dreams and their significance, the rhythm underneath the pattern.
- The things you already know but haven’t said out loud.
We get to meet monthly over three months, with correspondence and practices in between to support your current stage.
Why 3 months?
A new habit takes 21 days, a moon cycle is a month, but a full change from one season on the earth to the next takes 3 months. It’s long enough to support real change, and short enough to feel like a new beginning.
Wayfinding Sessions include:
- Three x 60–90min sessions together, taking the form of conversation, reflection, activities, or business design workshops - whatever you need at that time.
- In-between session support over email or voice note for questions, updates and companionship through discoveries
- Practices, take home activities, or conversation suggestions to explore or build from what comes up in the sessions
- Introductory season pricing available now: $1800 for the season. Payment can be paid in full at the start or in 3 installments.
- How to begin: Book a chat with Lara on the button below, where we can get to know each other, schedule your sessions, and begin. Alternatively, you can send an email in the form below and I'll respond and set up our process from there.

Some of the types of tools and activities I've used to support women on their business journeys
- Business design frameworks and digital tools
- Metaphor work to explore you & your business’s strengths and qualities
- Story frameworks and creation of metanarratives
- Symbols and archetypes used to understand purpose and inform communication, visuals, the feel of your work
- Gestalt theory and using visual cards to explore lateral thinking
- Knowledge of business operations tools to simplify work
- Provocations and ethics cards
- Ecosystem mapping
And simple, reflective, open conversation – the form is less important than the process! Much of the most transformative work happens during the time we give the whole process.
Join us for regular Purpose Sessions: group dialogues about work, Work, and the edgelands we’re growing into.
