Australia-ASEAN Emerging Leaders Program (A2ELP)
Australia and ASEAN’s flagship leadership program for young entrepreneurs in the region, Australia-ASEAN Emerging Leaders Program (A2ELP) is now open for applications.
Sponsored by the Australian Government’s Australia-ASEAN Council, and run by Social Good Outpost, the 2022 A2ELP will bring together 15 young entrepreneurs from Australia and ASEAN for 3 months of skills building, collaboration and networking with the region’s thought-leaders, social entrepreneurs, and alumni from previous A2ELP programs.
The program runs from February 2022, with applicants selected in December 2021. Applications open 8th October to 31st October. Young people under 30 years of age, who are leading a social enterprise and are from Australia or ASEAN (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam) are encouraged to apply.
Participants will build knowledge of scalable and sustainable business models to achieve long-term change, and develop skills to engage a range of stakeholders. They will receive training in cultural intelligence and innovative start-up and social enterprise methodologies, build skills to grow their enterprises, and learn the latest thinking and ideas from academic experts and industry leaders.
A2ELP participants will develop connections through peer mentoring and alumni engagement, and participate in networking events and cultural activities, and pitch at a finale gala event.
For 2022, the program will be run in a digital online format, with the potential for in-person networking once travel resumes. Participants will gain expertise from leading regional experts, entrepreneurs, government, community leaders and business, plus gain professional photography of themselves, live scribing of their pitches, high-level mentoring, access to the alumni network and more.
